How would you describe your job to your grandma?
I'm your insurance guy, just call me if you have an issue with your house or car.
How did you get into insurance?
A friend told me about Surex when there were just a handful of people working here. I knew it had a ton of potential and wanted to get involved early on so I got my insurance license and applied for a job.
What is a piece of advice you would give your 15-year-old self?
Don't worry about what career you're going to have, just be really nice to people and be willing to help anyone in need. The career part will figure itself out from there.
What do you love about your job?
Every day I get to help a lot of people and hopefully make their insurance experience simple and painless.
What is the hardest part of your role?
Having to take the call of someone who was just involved in a car accident or has to make a claim on their home insurance, knowing that regardless of the insurance side of things, their regular life is totally disrupted.
If you weren't an Insurance Advisor what job would you love?
Professional golfer seems like a pretty good gig.
What is the best thing you've done to advance in your career?
I started early. While in university, I became an advisor and got started before I even graduated.
Who is someone you admire? and why?
My parents because they taught me to work hard and above all else, do the right thing at all times.
