What are the requirements for a G2 license?

Conditions and Restrictions of an Ontario G2 License
With a G2 license, you can drive just about anywhere at anytime of the day alone or with passengers but will have a few restrictions to abide by:
Blood alcohol must be zero
Passengers can’t exceed the number of seat belts within the vehicle
G2 drivers under age 19 can only drive with 1 passenger aged 19 and under, within the first 6 months of having a G2 if driving between 12 am and 5am (After 6 months, up to 3 is fine, and this restriction doesn’t apply if there’s a fully G licensed driver with 4 years of experience accompanying)
Avoid it if you can: Getting a Traffic Ticket with a G2 License
Failing to obey traffic laws can result in a ticket, might give you demerit points and can hurt your auto insurance premiums in Ontario. A G2 license is still a beginner license and penalties are more costly than for a G licensed driver.
With a G2, on your first conviction, your license will be suspended for 30 days while your second conviction can result in a suspension of up to 90 days. Let’s just say you don’t want to get a third conviction because you will lose your novice license and have to start all over.
Preparing for Your Ontario G2 License Road Test
Once you’ve had your G2 license for 12 months, you’ll have gained enough driving experience to be able to take the G road test. You have 5 years from when you get your G1 to complete the process and this test will include a portion on the highway.
