A highlight of the finalists
The CanadianSME National Business Awards, sponsored by Google Canada, were held on May 5th, 2023. These awards recognized small businesses and entrepreneurs from across Canada with 26 unique categories. Surex was a finalist for two: Entrepreneur of the Year and Technopreneur of the Year awards for 2022.
Natasha Walji, Managing Director, Google Customer Solutions Canada, was the MC of the awards event, where she addressed some key issues affecting small businesses and entrepreneurs today as well as what they’ve had to overcome in the past. These various technological shifts include the introduction to the internet, moving to mobile, and more recently the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Surex was one of four businesses highlighted for the Google Canada article as a wrap-up after the awards show to gain some insight from some small business attendees. They wanted to know “what made 2022 a success for their business and how they plan to grow in 2023”.
